How much do we love fabulous shopping experiences? How often do we find all the right things in one place? And how sad are we when it’s a flight or two away? Reno, as some of you know, is a crazy mix of things. Low life, high cowboy style, hot cars and fast airplanes, great horseflesh, world class entertainment and no-class suburbs that fade off into the Northern Nevada sagebrush. Did I mention outdoor sports? Anyway, the last thing I expected to find was a dress shop worth the trip. “Dressed Like That!” on Virginia Street is huge fun. Proprietor Cynthia Lewis has gathered up a few lines of girly girl dresses, pants, tops and accessories and opened her doors in midtown Reno, in the same couple of blocks with happening new restaurant Midtown Eats, not far from Sup.
Why do we love these retro styles so much? They’re fun. They acknowledge and enhance curves. Got boobs? March those girls out in something worthy of them. No apologies! Got a waist? Cinch it in and put a skirt around it. Strut your stuff, girls. Enjoy. That’s the message.
Plus, Cynthia is fun and encouraging, in her blondie blonde curls and red red lipstick. We totally love a bad girl with a sweet smile and a great idea.
