Diva Downloads FAQ

For ease of installation, the best method to download the audio books, ringtones or alarms is on a computer.  If you are on an iPad or iPhone, you’ll have to download a free application such as “my media” or “OPlayer,” etc. in order to save the file and be able to retrieve and install the files.

How to download the audio books:

  • Once you have purchased an audio book, you will receive a link to download the audio file.
  • Download the audio book file.  The file will be in a zipped folder.
  • Zipping a file creates a compressed version of the file that is considerably smaller than the original file. The zipped version of the file has a .zip file extension.
  • To unzip the file on a windows-based PC, right-click the file, such as how-does-she-do-it.zip, and then click Extract on the shortcut menu.
  • To unzip the file on a Mac, the default unzip program will automatically open, and you can then choose where you want the unzipped version of that file to be saved on your computer. If you do not have a default zip program, software such as Stuff It Expander, Jzip, etc. are available online.

How to download a ringtone or alarm:

  • Once the download is complete, find the file on your computer (normally within your “downloads” folder.)
  • Double-click on the .m4r file.
  • If iTunes is installed on your computer, the file will automatically open and import it to iTunes.
  • Within iTunes, click on “ringtones” or “tones” in the left-hand bar. You should find your new .m4r file in here.
  • Drag it to your iPhone or iPad’s folder when it’s plugged in to your computer, or just click “sync” tones.

If you have a Blackberry or other device that does not support (.m4r) files, there are many online services that can convert the .m4r file to a .mp3 or .mp4 file.

You can also email the file to yourself (if you can access email on your phone), or email it as a text. Your phone’s email address is your 10-digit number at your carrier’s email URL. Example: 5555555555@company.net

  • AT & T: @mms.att.net
  • Sprint: @messaging.sprintpcs.com
  • T-Mobile: @tmomail.net
  • Verizon: @vzwpix.com or @vtext.com

How to add an audio book to a Kindle device:

  • Attach the Kindle to the computer via USB cord
  • Click “Start” on your computer and then go to “My Computer.” Your Kindle should be listed in that window. If it is not, use the drop down menu at the top of the window and try to find it in that list.
  • Click on the icon representing your Kindle to get into your Kindle files.
  • Click on the “music” or “audible” folder out (it should be within the three file folders that are listed on your Kindle.) This will open the folder so that you can transfer music or mp3 files easily onto your Kindle. If the “audible” or “music” folder does not exist, then create one.
  • Navigate to where you saved the audio book on your computer.
  • Right click and copy the audio book. Then right click and paste it into your Kindle’s audible or music folder.
  • Eject your Kindle safely so the files do not become corrupted. Right click on the eject icon at the bottom of your screen (next to the time) and click “Safely Remove Hardware.”
  • Enjoy listening to the books on your Kindle!
