BIG GIRL CAMP HALF MOON BAY Q & A
Q. Why is my deposit nonrefundable?
A. If you were to back out and your money returned, that cost would have to be made up by other attendees. We have to commit to our venues and activity vendors, so without your commitment, it just wouldn’t work.
Q. Why is the room cost the same for everyone?
A. This particular property, the Oceano, offered us a way to get together in really, really nice common rooms with fire places and full kitchens. The only way to make it work was to step outside the usual hotel format, and treat it as if we were all pitching in equally to rent a vacation home at the beach.
Q. Why are we going with the larger villas?
A. The villas give us beautiful, comfy, meeting space without having to pay extra for a “conference” room which isn’t nearly as nice. Or warm. Or cozy. Or fun. Auntie L hates conference rooms. Auntie L would much rather be with you in a beautiful big kitchen with a fireplace.
Q. Why is the event in HMB and not Pescadero?
A. The only accommodations in Pescadero are small B&Bs more expensive than the Oceano. We’d like to do an event there, but it’s a lot more complicated to plan.
Q. What is the minimum number?
A. If we don’t have deposits from at least 8 people by Saturday morning, August 3, we’ll have to cancel. And, yes, in that case, your deposits will be returned in full!
Q. What is the maximum number?
A. We can only accommodate 28 at this event.
Q. How many meals are included?
A. Six “full” meals are included, two each on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. One of the six meals will be a brunch. One lunch will be on your own. For the meals not included, you can choose to eat elsewhere in the hotel or in Princeton Harbor, or just feast on the (healthy — duh!) snacks that have been stocked in your villa. There will be plenty! We promise you won’t go hungry, even if you choose not to spend one extra dime on food.
Q. What is the LB&C fee?
A. There is no LB&C fee because, to keep your overall cost down, we are doing this event in a completely different way by including food, lots of activities and combining accommodations.
Q. What activities are included in the total price of $865?
A. Master class: Makeup Bag Edit. Individual makeovers with Destiny. Ten minutes to Level 4 with Auntie L. Beach walks and workouts. Vision Boards. Todd Zimmerman’s fascinating Soul-Centered Hand Analysis. Personal Stylist Trunk Show. Nurse B, tellin’ it like it is. Kitchen Closeup Cooking Class. Fairy Godmother one-on-ones.
Q. What activities are an additional cost?
A. Massages; kayaking (contact Chris for details); horseback riding.
Q. What activities do I have to sign up for?
A. Individual makeovers with Destiny, One-on-ones with Lynne, massages all need to be scheduled with Destiny. If you are interested in kayaking, please let Chris know.
Q. What are the fee due dates?
A. A $100 deposit is due by 8:00 am, Saturday, August 3, 2013, to reserve your place. The remainder may be paid in three installments of $255 each by 12:00 AM (midnight) Sunday, September 1, 2013, 12:00 AM Tuesday, October 1, 2013 and 12:00 AM Saturday, November 2, 2013. ALL payments are nonrefundable. We reserve the right to cancel the event and issue full refunds if our minimum of 8 campers isn’t met.
Q. How do I coordinate roommates?
A. Once a deposit has been received from all campers, Chris will coordinate roommates, trying her best to arrange you with who you would like to be with in the space you would like to be in.
Q. How do I coordinate transportation?
A. As you are making your flight arrangements, please be in contact with Chris. She will do her best to coordinate what airport others are flying into and out of and their arrival and departure times with you. Rental cars will be on your own so it’s best to share them whenever possible.
Q. When can I check-in/out?
A. We must adhere to the hotel’s check-in/out times. They will hold your luggage if you arrive before or want to leave after their set times. You can book individually with the hotel if you want to come earlier or stay longer.
Q. What should I pack? Dressy too, or all casual?
A. The entire weekend is going to be casual. There are no plans for a dressy event. Comfy, stretchy clothes, pjs, jeans, sweaters, boots, sneakers will be just fine. Weather will be quite cool at night, warm but not hot during the day, most likely.
